I Am Black: Translations |
|||||
Arcmanoro Niles Being black in America has been a process of discovering how to carry the weight of the African American experience & history in my tool belt and not on my back. I am learning to not let the overwhelming sadness crush me but, instead, make me stronger, as I learn about the level of mastery and genius of my ancestors along with struggles and inequalities that had to be overcome. There is a beauty in the stories, the history, in being human and in the ability to keep going with a measure of kindness in the heart.
